JEDDAH, 8 December 2007 — Saudi authorities here received Noha off a flight from Yemen at Jeddah Airport early Thursday, the daily Al-Madinah reported yesterday. Police immediately took the 17-year-old Saudi girl who went missing in early November for questioning about the details of her kidnapping and how she managed to leave the country.

The father of the girl received a call from the Saudi Embassy in Yemen to inform him about the arrival of his daughter in Jeddah. Police questioned Noha all day Thursday before her father was allowed to see her. After 30 minutes police asked the father and the rest of the family to leave the station.

Noha’s father reported to the police that his daughter was missing when she failed to return home after school. Last week Noha telephoned her father from Yemen saying she had been kidnapped by a male acquaintance and wanted to return home.

She told him that they stayed in Jeddah for a few days after which the man drove her to Yemen without telling her that they were leaving Saudi Arabia. She told her father that on reaching Yemen, she was forced to marry the man.
