RIYADH, 10 December 2007 — Police in Riyadh recently arrested a gang of three Saudi men, who kidnapped a 16-year-old boy from a football field to allegedly rape him.
“The kidnappers, who were between 25 and 30 years of age, took the 16-year-old boy, who was out playing football with friends,” a police spokesman said yesterday, adding that one of the boy’s friends telephoned police providing details of the kidnappers’ car.
A short while later police located the kidnappers’ car parked outside a house. Police raided the house, arresting the three kidnappers and a fourth Saudi man, who lived in the home and who was about to rape the boy. “Police caught the men just before the actual rape was about to take place,” the police spokesman said.
The three kidnappers were also found to be under the influence of alcohol and had in their car an axe and a bottle of locally brewed wine. “It is possible that the three abductors had taken the boy to the fourth person to satisfy his sexual desires,” said the police spokesman.
