JEDDAH, 31 December 2007 — Police have arrested a Sudanese expatriate for stabbing and critically wounding his wife in a domestic dispute at their home in a southern Jeddah district. Col. Misfar Al-Joaid told Arab News that the suspect and his wife had come to Jeddah from Qunfuda to spend their holidays with their relatives. Shortly after their arrival, the couple got into a quarrel which resulted in the husband attacking his wife. The woman is said to be in a critical state. “The man surrendered to the police and is currently under interrogation,” said Col. Al-Joaid. —
