The BMG Saudi Index continued its positive performance for the second trading day this week, with an increase of 4.5 percent, to close at 532.7 points. The market turnover, however, continued its negative performance, decreasing by 21.7 percent, to reach SR5.4 billion ($1.4 billion), down from SR6.9 billion ($1.8 billion) from Saturday’s trading.

All the sectors in the Index gained points. The best performer was the Telecommunications sector, rising by 5.5 percent. The Banking sector came in second by 5.2 percent, placing the Services sector third, with a 4.9 percent increase. The Insurance sector followed the uptrend, with its 4.3 percent increase, and the Industrial sector also moved ahead, advancing by 4.0 percent. The Electricity and Agricultural sectors came in last, with increases of 3.6 percent and 3.3 percent, respectively.

All the stocks in the BMG Index went up, with Saudi International Petrochemical Company crowned the best performer, appreciating by 9.9 percent, to reach SR55.50 per share. National Agriculture Marketing Company, on the other hand, was the worst performer, advancing by 0.6 percent, to reach SR41.75 per share. Both leading shares, Al-Rajhi Bank and SABIC, went up by 5.3 percent and 3.5 percent, to reach SR105.25 and SR168.5 per share, respectively.
