The BMG Saudi Index reversed its performance in yesterday’s session, as it lost 23.8 points, to reach a closing level of 508.89, versus 532.68 registered in Sunday’s session, a decline by 4.5 percent.
The market turnover advanced by 13.5 percent, to reach SR6.1 billion ($1.6 billion).
All the sectors ended the day in negative territory.
The Insurance sector was the biggest loser in yesterday’s session, declining by 5.6 percent.
The Industrial sector fell by 5.1 percent, and the Services sector moved down by 4.4 percent.
The Banking sector followed suit, dropping by 3.7 percent, whereas the Electricity sector lost 3.5 percent of its previous close.
Both the Telecommunications sector and the Agricultural sector went down by 3.2 percent and 3 percent, respectively.
Most of the shares saw their closing prices drop.
The best performer in the session was Saudi Industrial Services Co. (SISCO), with a 2.7 percent rise in its share price to SR28.25 per share.
The worst performer was Malath Cooperative Insurance and Reinsurance Company, with 8.7 percent loss per share, to end the session at SR95.0 per share.
The leading shares, SABIC and Al-Rajhi, were among the session’s negative performers, dipping by 5.2 percent and 3.8 percent, respectively.
