NAJRAN, 31 January 2008 — The local branch of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice rescued a 16-year-old girl from a man who blackmailed her with pictures of him and her together. He threatened to send the pictures to her family and cause a scandal if she didn’t comply with his demands. The girl got involved with the man when she was only 14 and continued the affair until she got engaged to another man recently. She wanted to end the relationship, but the man refused and insisted that they keep on dating. The girl then asked the help of a female relative who contacted a Commission official. The culprit was arrested immediately.
