MANILA, 1 February 2008 — A football referee who went beyond his duty by taking videos of women varsity players changing their clothes in a Philippine university is himself facing judgment. Dennis Balore, a referee of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), was caught using his cellular phone to peep at volleyball players who were suiting up inside the shower room of Ateneo de Manila University gymnasium in Manila’s suburb of Quezon City, police and news reports said yesterday. In their complaint to the police, the student players said they were putting on their volleyball uniforms inside the shower room ahead of a game last Sunday when they noticed the 30-year-old Balore around. The outraged students immediately notified school security officers, who then caught Balore and confiscated his cellular phone unit containing videos of the seven half-naked girls. A report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer said the Quezon City prosecutor’s office yesterday charged Balore with several counts of unjust vexation.
