RIYADH, 6 February 2008 — Planes carrying the bodies of two family members of a Saudi Embassy employee along with 10 diplomats and embassy personnel based in Chad landed here Tuesday night.
The Saudi diplomats and their family members were first evacuated to Gabon by French military plane. “A special plane carrying 10 officials and employees of N’Djamena embassy and an air ambulance carrying the bodies of Siham and Miral, wife and daughter of Abdulrahman, arrived at Riyadh airbase from Gabon,” said a source at the Foreign Ministry.
The Saudi Embassy in the Chad capital will remain closed for the time being.
“Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has given special instructions to provide all necessary medical aid to Ahmed and Mazun, the two surviving children of Abdulrahman,” said a statement released by the ministry.
