JEDDAH, 27 February 2008 — Crown Prince Sultan has agreed to the establishment of a scientific chair for Muslim minorities at King Abdulaziz University and has donated SR10 million to the project, Dr. Osama ibn Sadik Tayeb, the university's president, announced yesterday.
He said the new academic chair was aimed at conducting detailed studies on the condition of Muslim minorities in non-Muslim countries. It will also discuss their problems and requirements to help them in a scientific way, he added.
Tayeb commended the crown prince for his generous donation and said it was in line with his support for Islam and Muslims in general and Muslim minorities in particular.
