The BMG Saudi Index went down in its second trading day this week by 0.4 percent to 529.3 points. The market turnover, however, surged by 55.9 percent to SR3.6 billion ($952 million) compared to SR2.3 billion ($611 million) on Saturday.

Two sectors went up in yesterday’s trading. The services sector advanced by 0.7 percent and the industrial sector appreciated by 0.2 percent. The banking sector moved down by 1.7 percent, becoming the session’s worst performing sector yesterday. The telecommunications sector declined by 1.5 percent, and was followed by the agricultural sector which moved down by 1.2 percent. The insurance and electricity sectors decreased by 1.1 percent and 0.1 percent respectively.

Yanbu National Petrochemical Company was the best performer in yesterday’s session as its shares closed 6.9 percent higher at SR54.25 per share. National Agricultural Marketing Company, on the other hand, was the worst performer, depreciating by 3.3 percent to SR35.75 per share. Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) lost 0.4 percent to SR176.50, and, Al-Rajhi Bank’s share price decreased by 1.6 percent to SR93.50 per share.
