ISLAMABAD, 28 March 2008 — Pakistan’s Attorney General Malik Qayyum resigned yesterday. Sources in the president’s office confirmed that President Pervez Musharraf has accepted his resignation. Earlier in the day, government sources said that Sharifuddin Pirzada, who was legal adviser to the caretaker prime minister, “ceased to work” as his term ended with the new elected government assuming office on Tuesday.
