JEDDAH, 9 April 2008 — Saudi Telecom launched the Backup Link Service for all the business sector customers and the subscribers to the IP-VPN service so that they do not loose the connection at anytime.
Commenting on this new service, Samir Matbouli, vice president, STC business services department, said:
“This new service introduces an alternative way to transfer the subscriber from the main service in case of disconnection, without them loosing any of their files and works.
The Backup Link Service, priced at 50 percent less than the main service, offers all the IP-VPN features and provides a temporary connection via IP-MPLS at high speeds reaching 2.5 Mbps.”
Matbouli added that: “With this new service, the company made sure to provide a private, secure and robust network for businesses to communicate without interruption anywhere in the Kingdom, at a time where internet communication is becoming vital for companies and economic institutions”.

In its new structure STC has introduced a new department for the Business sector customers in order to fulfill their special needs.
