MAKKAH, 11 April 2008 — A fire at a hotel close to the Grand Mosque in Makkah early yesterday left 14 people with breathing problems. The fire erupted on the third floor of the hotel on Ibrahim Al-Khalil Street around 8 a.m. The fire brigade said the blaze was caused by a gas cylinder that exploded. At least 150 pilgrims were evacuated from the hotel.
