YANBU, 28 April 2008 — A group of four inexperienced young men out on a hunting expedition in Yanbu on Friday ended in jail after it turned out the animals they were preying on in the wilderness were in fact two men out picnicking. Noticing movement in a distant bush on the foot of a hill, one of the men began firing. However, when they came close to collect their trophies, to their horror they discovered that they had shot two men. Fearing that their shots might have killed someone, they fled the scene without turning back. The two picnickers, Saleh Al-Harbi and Waleed Al-Harbi, were shot on their shoulders and arms, although their injuries were not critical. Later they filed a complaint with Yanbu police providing them with a description of the hunters' jeep. Police arrested the four youths the same day. They said it was the first time they had gone hunting and that they mistook the two picnickers for wild dogs.
