DHAHRAN, 30 April 2008 — “Speak from your heart, and the audience will listen,” was the advice given to public relations professionals recently by Dr. Randy Harvey, 2004 Toastmasters world champion speaker.
Harvey made the comment on April 20 at the Saudi Aramco Exhibit during an event sponsored by the International Public Relations Association-Gulf Chapter (IPRA-GC).
He spoke about the most important tools used to develop speakers’ skills and competence and the best way to present ideas, conduct a speech and convince the audience. He also gave the audience several tips speakers should observe during their speeches to effectively communicate their messages.
IPRA-GC under the leadership of Faisal S. Al-Zahrani announced an ambitious initiative to enhance public relations across the GCC. In addition to workshops and conferences with leading practitioners, the organization also intends to serve as a conduit for new technologies, best practices and cross-sector cooperation in public relations activities.
