JEDDAH, 22 May 2008 — Police have arrested members of a gang whose primary target was office clerks responsible for depositing cash in banks.
Mesfer Al-Juaid, the official spokesman for the Jeddah police, said the gang would follow their victims, and then attack and rob them. “This gang was notorious and had been responsible for robbing a large number of workers, especially those handling company cash,” he said.
“Police arrested the gang after capturing one of the members who robbed a man in front of a bank. This man then led the police to their apartment and officers managed to recover some cash,” he said.
Police said the gang members were Ethiopian nationals.
