JEDDAH: A monthlong Edufest organized by Malarvadi Balasangam, the largest Indian community organization for children in Saudi Arabia, ended with an online educational contest that was conducted through seven centers across the Kingdom.
“We have organized many cultural and educational programs for schoolchildren at zonal and regional levels and were attended by more than 4,000 children and their parents,” said K.M. Basheer, chief patron of Balasangam.
Online exam centers were set up in Alkhobar, Riyadh, Jeddah, Khamis Mushayt, Jizan, Madinah and Yanbu where contests were held for kids, sub-juniors and juniors and results were announced on the spot, Basheer said.
Malarvadi Madinah Circle bagged 540 points winning the first place while Yanbu Circle received 500 points winning second place. The Alkhobar Circle won the first place for kids and Jeddah North Circle second place for sub-juniors.
In the Kingdomwide online competition, Bima Jaan-Hani Farooq team of Alkhobar won first prize in kids category; Raneesh Rasheed and Mohammed Hisham of Madinah won first prize in sub-juniors; Anees Mohammed and Bilal Abdu Rahman of Yanbu grabbed first place in juniors. “The nationwide online contest was a big success,” said Abdul Shukoor Ali, coordinator for Jeddah north zone. The selection of suitable questions for all levels made it interesting as well as informative,” he said.
