LONDON: The dollar slipped back against the euro and yen in European trade yesterday as players took quick profits amid persistent concerns over the outlook for the US economy and the banks, analysts said.

In late deals, the European single currency rose to 1.5874 dollars from 1.5846 in New York late on Friday. Against the Japanese currency, the dollar fell to 106.80 yen from 106.95.

Oil rose yesterday. US crude climbed $1.95 to $130.83 a barrel by 1:20 p.m. while London Brent crude rose $2.05 to trade at $132.24 a barrel.
