MAKKAH: A butcher from Mali stabbed to death a compatriot in Al-Maabedah district of Makkah yesterday morning.
“Upon arrest, the 43-year-old butcher told the police that the victim, who was 51, used to tease him and threaten to inform the Passport Department about him,” said Maj. Abdul Muhsen Al-Mayman, spokesman for Makkah police.
The murder took place at around 6:30 a.m. “The two men met on their way to work and the victim began repeating his threats. This led to a bloody fight. The butcher stabbed his victim seven times and then used a cleaver to hack at his body,” said Al-Mayman.
A third man from Mali who intervened to stop the fight received blows to his neck and shoulder, and lost a finger, he said.
