JEDDAH: Police have arrested an Egyptian man who murdered a fellow Egyptian and then dumped his body in the Aziziah district of Jeddah.
Police said the crime took place last Monday and that the murderer was arrested on Tuesday. The dead man, a teacher at a private school, had sustained multiple stab wounds.
The man, whose face had been mutilated, was only identified following investigations, which involved questioning 147 people.
The attacker was arrested in the town of Thuwal, 80 km north of Jeddah. Police said that the man initially denied involvement in the death. After a few days in custody, he finally admitted that he had killed the man to rob him.
He told police that he had moved in with the victim on Oct. 18 and had pre-planned the murder. He said he stabbed the man, threw his body next to a dumpster and then returned to the man’s home to remove evidence.
