JEDDAH: The Saudi Charitable Society for Welfare of Saudi Families Abroad (AWASSER) in Riyadh is launching an awareness campaign and scientific symposium on Saudi families today.
The one-day scientific symposium entitled “Saudi Families, Views and Ambitions,” will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Prince Salman Social Center.
The symposium has been organized in line with a number of other local events planned as part of a Family and Social Week nationwide.
The primary aim of the campaign is to discuss the growing phenomenon of marriages with foreigners and the social and economic problems faced by Saudi families besides highlighting the vital role that local social institutions play in dealing with these problems.
Among other topics of discussion are the consequences of the social and economic problems and how they impact marital relations and how the Saudi family can overcome the increasing pressures of daily life and financial burdens which could be among the most important causes of marital disputes.
Abdullah Al-Hamoud, chairman of AWASSER, said the symposium comes at a suitable time to enlighten women on how to deal with marital problems which he said “no house is free from” and which requires to be dealt with carefully and intelligently.
