JEDDAH: Save for the match between Al-Ahli and Al-Wehda that could go either way the rest of the matches look predictable in round six today of the Saudi Professional League.
Ahli hosts the Makkah-based team, Wehda, in a potentially explosive match at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium here.
Ahli trails Wehda in the team standings and enters the match keen to recover from a 2-1 defeat by archrival Al-Ittihad. Ahli is in seventh position with 8 points and Wehda fourth with 10 points.
Ahli’s mission to collect the game’s three points looks particularly difficult with the continued absence of ace striker Malek Muaz. Ahli lost in the last two matches against Hilal and Ittihad without Muaz.
Wehda, on the other hand, is riding the momentum of a two-match winning streak against Najran and Al-Raid. Wehda enjoys full strength at the striking line featuring the star striker Essa Al-Muhayyani, Ahmad Al-Mousa and Kamel Al-Mousa.
Al-Hilal travels to Al-Rass for the match against ninth-placed Al-Hazem and is expected to add to its tally of 13 points at second place in the standings.
Al-Najran welcomes Al-Ittifaq in Najran with the visitors fancied to win and cement their place on sixth position with 8 points. Al-Shabab should have no trouble when it hosts Al-Raid in Riyadh. Shabab is on fifth position with 9 points and Al-Rail 11th with mere three points.
In another match in Riyadh, Nasr faces Al-Watani and like Shabab is widely tipped to prevail against the last-placed team in the competition.
Ittihad, the league leader with 16 points, is expected to encounter little difficulty in its away match against Abha.
