JEDDAH: When it comes to deception and trickery there could be nothing worse than this one. A Saudi young man fooled an expatriate by offering him a communication tower for SR2,500. The expatriate was arrested while dismantling the tower. When questioned by the cops, he said that a young Saudi man convinced him to buy the tower, which the telecommunication company did not need anymore. He also added that the Saudi man told him that he was not interested in selling the tower but he is offering it to him at a low price to help him improve his financial status and thus “get rewards from God,” a local daily reported. The incident reminds one of Victor Lustig who lived in the early 19th century. Considered to be the most talented trickster, he sold Eiffel Tower not once but twice.
