MANY people think that it is only natural that humans are born in one country so it is thus only natural that they should live in the same country all their lives or, if they travel, they eventually come back and settle in their birth place. The main idea behind this is that humans are natural domestic creatures, genetically identified with their peers and family members and surrounded with neighbors who will enhance their mental state.
Well! Naturally, 99 percent of this theory is right but what about the one percent that is different? The percentage that I call frequent fliers — those such as Christopher Columbus and Ibn Battutah? What of those and many more all through our history? Are they abnormal? Or are they just different?
I have to confess that I am one of those people, a bird by soul and nature, and my utmost joy is when I board a plane for a new place. I will keep doing this as long as I can, as long as I am, healthy enough and able to do it. If, God forbid, I cannot, then I may have to stay in one place physically, but I will move all around in my head. Each country and each land is a new adventure and each one is defined by its nature, its culture, its people and its history.
It is very exciting and exhilarating to explore our planet, and think how much more exciting it will be if we can explore the worlds beyond ours.

My first visit to Saudi Arabia was in 1966 with Aramco. I was in the Eastern Province for 10 wonderful years. I am a grandpa now, retired in my old hometown in Texas. I have lost contact with my old friends, both in Saudi and the US. I have no idea how to get back in touch with them so that we can exchange memories.

I know that there are many old Aramco veterans and they even have a website. I do not have full information but I would suggest you contact anybody in Aramco itself, especially those working in the media and archive. I am sure they will help you a lot.
