HERMOSILLO, Mexico: The 44th AMF bowling World Cup kicked off at the weekend with a colorful ceremony at Bol 300 where players from different countries paraded holding their flags. Prince Abdul Hakeem bin Musaeed is representing Saudi Arabia at this international event.
A large crowd attended the opening ceremony in addition to a delegation of the International Bowling Federation. The tournament director declared the event open. Players from Yemen, the UAE, Qatar, Syria and Lebanon, among others, are seeing action in the nine-day event.
International media focused on Prince Abdul Hakeem as various newspapers and television stations conducted interviews with him. Media persons were excited to know that Saudi Arabia had hosted two international bowling tournaments in the past.
Prince Hakeem hopes to deliver an excellent display in the competition. He had earlier taken part in contests held in the US, Europe and several Arab countries.
Prince Hakeem began his preparations for this world championship more than three months ago during which he underwent intensive training.
