JUBAIL: A world-class medical center run by the Kerala-based KIMS Healthcare Management Ltd., will open in the industrial city of Jubail today.

Abdul Mohsen bin Mohammed Al-Otaishan, governor of Jubail, will officially open KIMS Suncitys Medical Centre in the presence of Dr. M.I. Sahadullah, chairman of KIMS (Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences), Salim Mohammed Albunain, general manager of the Jubail Center, community leaders and other dignitaries.

The hospital will have well-equipped departments for general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedics, dentistry, pathology and radiology.

Addressing a press conference here, Sahadullah said KIMS Suncitys would be manned by experienced doctors and professionals. The Jubail center draws on the health care expertise and quality commitment of its parent hospital in the Kerala capital, Thiruvananthapuram. "We have recruited experienced doctors and professionals from all over the world, especially from India, Sudan, Pakistan and Syria, for the Jubail center," he said.

"Nursing staff of KIMS Suncitys have been trained to international standards to provide proper care to patients with compassion and courtesy," the chairman said. "We have plans to open new departments for physiotherapy and ophthalmology and an obesity clinic at the Jubail center in the immediate future."

The new medical center, which is located on King Faisal Road, opposite Nissan showroom in Jubail, will also be supported by professionals at KIMS hospitals in Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Dubai. "Visiting consultants from the parent hospital in India will be offering their expertise in the fields of neurology, cardiology and nephrology."

KIMS Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram is the only health care provider in India that has received accreditation for quality health care delivery through the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International and National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers, the chairman said.

"Our hospital is a pioneering institute in medical tourism in India with a large number of international clients," Sahadullah said.
