JEDDAH: Al-Ahli, with at least five of its players returning from injury, takes on Al-Watani in a round nine match in the Saudi Professional League today.

Ahli will use the match to psyche itself up for the big battle on Friday against Riyadh-based Al-Nasr in the final first leg of the Gulf Clubs 2008.

The Watani match is important for Ahli as the Jeddah-based squad looks to improve its position in the team standings by clinching the game’s three points.

Ahli is currently seventh with 10 points while Watani is 11th with only five points.

The Ahli coach said the returning players would give him a full-strength side to face Nasr. Malek Muaz is ready to assume his old role as the team’s most potent striker.

“After the match against Al-Watani, I am not thinking of playing any friendly match because time is short,” the Ahli coach said.
