RIYADH: Cambridge Regional College (CRC) and Al-Mujaz Center, which is run by Al-Sadhan Commercial Group, announced a partnership recently.
The partnership between the CRC and the center was announced during a cere-mony marked by an initiative from the CRC that envisages academic grants to the first group of graduates comprising 25 students.
According to Amina Wakefield, head of international office at the CRC, the UK college has entered into partnerships with many educational centers in the Kingdom and its neighboring countries.
“We try to keep in mind the Saudization issue,” said Wakefield. “Such a partnership with Al-Mujaz is a step toward meeting the educational needs of teachers, especially with the Mujaz Language Program MLI.”
Wakefield mentioned that it is important to realize how vital the vocational programs are for the Saudi economy.
“Many women as well as men spend a lot of money in hair-dressing and at beauty salons. We have special courses for hair-dressing and beauty care,” Wakefield said. “These jobs are currently occupied by foreigners. Hence, the need to educate Saudis is very important.”
Rick Dearing, principal and chief executive, on a visit to the Kingdom, told Arab News, “It is important to have qualified trainers with good curriculum for learning English.
“Good materials and a clear learning methodology in addition to qualified trainers with clear schemes of work are the factors of a successful educational training process,” said Dearing.
