ABHA: An unemployed young man in the small southern town of Surat Obaidah in Asir province decided it would be a swell idea to sneak into a local women’s college and kidnap the girl of his dreams, at least that’s what his father told the local religious police, according to yesterday’s Al-Watan newspaper. The report says that the lad was disappointed after numerous attempts to win the hearts of a number of local ladies. His frustration led him to plot some kind of intervention at a local institute of higher education. And instead of keeping his plan to himself, he was brazen enough to tell his father, who quickly took the plot to the local authorities. A local squad of anti-vice commission intervened and arrested the man, but not before they called the regular police after the young man stabbed one of the commission’s agents. Now an investigation is under way to find out how the guy entered the girl’s college, and for the time being the young man is dealing with his frustration behind bars.
Youths named and shamed for flirting
TABUK: A local shopping center has utilized good old-fashioned mug shots to warn women and girls of men who have been caught hitting on the ladies. According to local news reports, the center’s management has posted names and photos of youths who have been caught flirting and sexually harassing women in the mall. These “not wanted” posters are up in strategic locations in the building.
