JEDDAH: The Foreign Ministry said yesterday that the Kingdom’s embassy in New Delhi and consulate in Mumbai have set up a team to follow up the condition of Saudis in India in the wake of Wednesday’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
“The team will provide necessary assistance including accommodation at state expense as well as evacuation for those who want to return to Saudi Arabia,” said an official statement issued by the ministry.
It said the Saudi Embassy and Consulate were following up developments in Mumbai and receiving calls from Saudi citizens to provide them with necessary guidance. They also coordinate with the Indian Foreign Ministry and security agencies, the ministry said, adding that Indian authorities have assured them all assistance.
