JEDDAH: Health Minister Hamad Al-Manie announced yesterday that pilgrims are in good health and the situation is reassuring.
“All pilgrims enjoy good health,” he said. “We have not so far detected any signs of epidemic or contagious disease among the pilgrims.”
The minister attributed this to the cooperation of the Saudi diplomatic missions abroad and the countries that considered as source of pilgrims in ensuring strict compliance with Haj health instructions before arriving in the Kingdom.
The minister said that health authorities would continue to monitor the incoming pilgrims at these ports, and, “we will immediately act in case of any suspicion to protect the pilgrims.”
The ministry has mobilized 24 hospitals, with a capacity of around 4,000 beds and 133 primary health care centers and around 10,000 health care personnel to serve the pilgrims in Makkah, Madinah and the holy sites of Mina and Arafat.
