NEW YORK: Crown Prince Sultan, who is in New York for medical tests, has met a group of Saudi students in the United States and gave each one a gift of $10,000, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday.

“Tonight is a happy night,” the prince told the group of students. “I am ready to listen to any remark or opinion from our students, whether personally or in writing,” he added.

Prince Sultan was accompanied by Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman, Prince Khaled bin Sultan, assistant minister of defense and aviation for military affairs, and several other members of the royal family and the government.

The prince said he hoped the students, present at the reception, would accept a gift of $10,000 each.

A Saudi student, speaking on behalf of his colleagues in the US, thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Prince Sultan for their continuous support of young Saudi men and women pursuing higher studies abroad. “We thank you very much for sparing some time to meet us and give us necessary advice,” he told Sultan.
