QUNFUDAH: Eid celebrations were going well at an events hall in the west coast town of Qunfudah — until the guy in blue jeans and a T-shirt showed up. According to a report in yesterday’s Al-Madinah newspaper, Eid revelers were outraged when one of the attendees showed up in Western attire and began participating in a traditional dance. After the man refused to leave the dancing area, some attendees took the initiative of strong-arming the fellow out the front door of the hall. They told them man to come back in more culturally appropriate clothing — a thobe — and then he would be allowed to hit the dance floor.
