JEDDAH: Rahmathunnisa of the Italian International School has emphasized the importance of Islamic education in molding the character of students and urged Muslim parents to provide it to their children along with material education.
Addressing a cultural program organized by Imam Bukhari Madrasa at Al-Maqasid International School in the Aziziya District here, she said that Islamic education is essential to protect children from evils and bring them up as God-fearing citizens. She urged teachers to become role models for their students.
Ismail Mautheri, an English lecturer at King Abdul Aziz University, spoke to children in their language and explained to them how they can become good boys and girls through good conduct and behavior.
He urged children to use their eyes, ears, hands and legs to do good things and serve others.
Jamal M. Alwaye, chief patron of the madrasa, presided over the function attended by a large number of parents. Mariyam Abdul Aziz, principal of Al-Maqasid, distributed prizes to winners of sports contests.
Madrasa coordinator Abdul Shukoor Ali welcomed the guests while Abdussubhan gave a vote of thanks.
