RIYADH: Prince Faisal bin Salman, chairman of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG), received a check for SR475,000 on behalf of Insan (the Saudi Society for the Care of Orphans) from Coca-Cola yesterday.

The check was delivered during a press conference held at the SRMG headquarters in the presence of Saleh Al-Yousef, general manager of Insan, Abdullah Al-Arrak, communications and marketing manager of Coca-Cola Bottling Company, and members of the business community.

Appreciating the efforts of Coca-Cola in serving society, Prince Faisal, who is also the president of Insan’s executive committee, said such contributions go a long way in building a healthy community.

Al-Arrak said the donation was 10 percent of the proceeds of the company’s promotional campaign during Ramadan.

“The Coca-Cola campaign was a great opportunity for consumers to participate in Insan’s activities through purchasing Coca-Cola beverages during the holy month of Ramadan. Those who were fasting in Ramadan rushed to do charity during the campaign,” Al-Arrak said, pointing out that the campaign was one of several humanitarian activities undertaken by the company.

He also recalled the untiring efforts of Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman who has extended his full support to Insan as its chairman.

Al-Yousef said, “Coca-Cola’s campaign is setting a role model for other companies to organize similar initiatives for the benefit of the needy.”

He added that Insan has planned a series of activities jointly with Coca-Cola and other companies to help the orphans.
