JEDDAH: In the second week action of the Saudi Basketball Federation STC-sponsored league saw all 12 teams in action in the Kingdom during the week.
Ohud traveled to Makkah and defeated Wehda 97-84. Both teams put up a good show but Ohud dominated and foiled every attempts of the hosts to turn the game in their favor.
In another match, visitors Al-Ansar edged out Masera 78-75 in a thriller played in Guraiat. Local favorites Al-Ittihad went to Riyadh facing Al-Hilal, and coasted to a 77-57 win in a one-sided match. In Hasa, Al-Ahli score a comfortable 88-70 win over Fath while Khaleejh overpowered Qadisiya 75-53 in Dammam. Nahdah beat Safa 83-72 in Qatif.
In Friday’s action, only four teams were left in the fray. Nahdah outplayed Khaleejh 76-60 in Qatif, while Qadisiya romped over Safa 95-72 in Dammam.
Monday afternoon Hilal gave Ahli its first loss at home winning 75-71. Ittihad stayed on top with a 114-79 win over Fath in Hasa. Ansar did the same in Makkah beating Wehda, 91-74. Ohud finished the week beating Masera 84-72. Four teams are left undefeated including Ittihad, Nahdah, Ansar, and Ohud, with three of the top four meeting in week three in Madinah. Nahdah plays Ansar tomorrow, and Ohud on Friday.
