LIKE millions and millions of admirers of US talk show queen Oprah Winfrey and her well-known show, I am a big fan of her book club as it highlights writers and subjects that are very informative and helpful on a personal level.

A recent book she recommended was the highly acclaimed book “The Secret”. Translated into dozens of languages, the 2008 bestseller has been reviewed and analyzed by countless experts who are working with the author to explain how positive human thought can move things in the direction of the positive thinker. “The Secret” to unlimited joy, health, money, relationships, love, etc. being the power of attraction, i.e. positive thinking will attract good things in one’s life and vice versa.

The book says that positive thinking is in fact a process of creating reality, no more no less. It even suggested that collective positive human thought could stop the Earth in its orbit.

Farfetched? Maybe but what if in reality humans do have this super fantastic power? What if they can change their destinies through positive thinking?

Do you know that humans use, in maximum measure, no more that a fifth of their brain? What if humans were to use 95 percent of that power? Don’t you think it is possible that boundaries might be limitless for humans? I think if they do find a way in the future, and they probably will, many great things and frontiers will then be opened to the human race.

Last week you talked about falconry and its not being forbidden in Saudi Arabia but monitored. What about other kinds of game hunting — foxes, pheasants, rabbits, etc? Are they also hunted?

Dear Albert,

The hunting of all kinds of birds is permitted in Saudi Arabia in different seasons monitored according to the availability/scarcity of the respective bird. Foxes and several other desert animals may not be hunted because they are on a list of endangered species. In fact there has been a hunting ban on such animals for many years. However despite the ban on the hunting of endangered desert species, they continue to be killed. The great lizard (locally known as thob) is just one example. If you want to go hunting, I would advise you to check with the local authorities to be sure you are not violating local hunting laws.
