JEDDAH: Week three thinned out the undefeated teams leaving Al-Ittihad, Ohud, and Ansar with perfect records after six games in the Saudi Basketball Federation Tournament.

Ittihad romped over Safa 105-63 to gain their fifth win of the season. Ali Maghrabi, a jewel in Ittihad crown, poured in 29 points in three quarters before the bench players took the rein in their hands.

Devon Wade, Safa’s only import player, was at the helm as he scored almost half of his team’s points but the lackluster performance from the bench, it was a losing battle. Continue with their domination of the game, Ittihad outclassed Khaleej 97-60 in another tie. Thus, added another feather to their cap.

In week four, Ittihad again showed their skill and stamped their authority when they thrashed Qadisiya 98-57 followed by their victory over Nahda 82-61.

Ittihad is averaging 95.8 points a game and winning by an average of 33 points a game.

Ohud, who is holding down second place in week three beat Qadisiya 75-58 and Nahda 102-61.

The following week, Ohud disposed of Fath 95-85, and then ran into Hilal and suffered their first loss with a margin of 92-88. Third placer Ansar dispatched of Nahda 87-68 and Qadisiya 79-71. In another fixture of the same week, Hilal made its move beating Ansar 71-58, while Ansar outplayed Fath 85-74 to finish the week.

Ahli stayed at fourth position at the end of week three with two wins. In the first match, they defeated Kahaleej 76-71 and Safa 78-63. But in week four, Nahda halted Ahli’s streak by thumping them 71-65. Shrugging off their loss, Ahli regrouped and rolled over Qadisiya 92-66 in another match of the event.

Nahda and Hilal are in fifth and sixth place respectively.

Nahda, despite losing Ohud, Ansar and Ittihad, earned a win over Ahli in the last game.

Hilal won first three games by beating Masera, Ansar and Ohud but bowed to Wahda in the last game.

Khaleej, Wahda, Fath, Qadisiya, Safa and Masera round out the pack in that order.
