ABU DHABI/DUBAI: UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and Vice President and Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum have together offered to build 1200 houses for Palestinians whose houses were demolished during the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
State news agency WAM said that Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan has offered 600 houses and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al- Maktoum pledged another 600. A nationwide telethon to raise funds in support of Palestinian people in Gaza got under way yesterday afternoon. The live TV and radio campaign, which started at 2:00 local time, raised Dh109.1 million by evening.
