JEDDAH: A variety of cultural contests for children will be held here on Friday as part of Malarvadi Kalotsavam, coordinator Abdul Shukoor Ali said. More than 500 students are expected to take part in the contests for kids, sub-juniors and juniors.
“Winners of this program will qualify to take part in a zonal level contest on Jan. 23,” Ali told Arab News, adding that the winners of zonal level contests would be given attractive prizes during a ceremony to be held at the end of this month.
Competitions will be held in three areas (Aziziya, Faisaliya and Ruwais) in crayon, song, mono act, action song, cartoon, pencil drawing, memory test, recitation of poem, water coloring, story writing and completing poem, Ali said.
A committee has been formed under the leadership of Ali and his assistant Nissar Iritti to organize the competitions. CH. Basheer, K.K. Nissar, Fasal Kochi and P.K. Abdul Ghafour are among the organizers. Those who want to know more about the contests may contact 050-867-1674/050-231-5283.
