DUBAI: Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, inaugurated the three-day Intersec Trade Fair and Conference 2009 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre yesterday.
Elizabeth Brehl, managing director of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, exhibition organizers, and Angela Schierholz, senior show manager of Intersec, accompanied Sheikh Majid.
Sheikh Majid’s first stop was at the stand of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The NGO is one of the world’s leading bodies for health and safety professionals. IOSH Stand Manager Colette Walley briefed Shaikh Majid on IOSH’s scope of work and on their participation at the trade fair.
Next on Sheikh Majid’s itinerary were visits to the stand of Nakheel PJSC, a world-class accredited training provider. He also stopped by the stand of the Saudi Factory for Fire Equipment Co. (SFFECO), one of the major firefighting equipment manufacturers, with a state-of-the-art factory in Riyadh and based in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai.
Sheikh Majid, the patron of Intersec Trade Fair and Conference, then inspected the Epoc Messe Frankfurt Media Center and saw for himself the facility set up for members of the local and international press covering the fair. This was followed by a brief stop at the booth of the National Fire Fighting Manufacturing Co. (NAFFCO) based in Jebel Ali Free Zone and the booth of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, which displayed fire fighting trucks and cars.
