In the article entitled “Obama Appears Ready to Talk with Hamas” (Jan. 10) Dr. Sherifa Zuhur had not explicitly mentioned Chief of Staff-designee Rahm Israel Emanuel as the person who was running the White House. That characterization was originally contained in brackets, to indicate that the additional words were added by the author, but was erroneously removed.
The error is regretted.
