Taj India Associates, a Delhi-based real estate firm, has announced launch of its new world-class project “Millat Colony” in a Delhi suburb, just 12 kilometers north-east of the Old Delhi Railway station. “The project envisages allocation of free-hold land plots on ownership basis with the whole range of facilities and amenities, not necessarily found in many colonies in India,” said Dr Nasim Akhtar, Taj’s chief project promoter, in Riyadh yesterday.
Congratulating Indian expatriates and non-Indians on the occasion of India’s Republic Day, Akhtar said that “a large number of plots have already been booked mainly by non-resident Indians living in the US, Saudi Arabia and many other countries of the Middle East.” The plots would be ready for occupation within a few weeks from now. He said that the Millat Colony brings affordable plots of land with world-class amenities offered by the developers in a serene area.
“Each square feet has been priced at a very competitive rate”, said Akhtar, who is fully confident that the project would be a sellout in the next few days, not in weeks. He said that this project had been launched keeping in view the security and culture of Indian masses, especially Muslims, who miss either of the two or even both,” he noted.
“I have tried to give a model, a colony which would suit the needs and it is also moderately priced, so that even a lower middle class family can afford it,” said the Taj India Associate chief. He said that the Millat Colony would offer all the basic facilities in addition to those which even the high-class developers don’t think necessary, such as school and hospital. “One more thing to be noted in my colony is that we are providing all these basic facilities built up,” he added. “We are not leaving them on the mercy of others, for example mosque, madrasa, roads, parks, boundary, drainage system, water and electricity supply, school and hospital,” he noted.
Predicting the success of this project, Akhtar said that he hoped that this colony was going to be a perfect model. Other developers have already started emulating us, he said and this trend will go further. This should be emphasized, too.
“Our people don’t need sauna, jacuzzi, golf clubs, as much as they need a school, a hospital, etc. — their modest requirements,” explained Akhtar. In all my endeavors, I am not the least guided by profit motives, he added.
Taj Associates, on the other hand, has also plans for vocational training programs for both boys and girls. This gigantic work has been possible due to the dedication and zeal of Taj team, who have joined this mission, although quite a good number of them have not even seen each other. “I thank them from the bottom of my heart,” said Akhtar.
