SANAA: Yemeni police have arrested three suspects, including a Kuwaiti national, in a crackdown in the northcentral province of Maarib against militant groups linked to terror acts in the country, official sources said yesterday.
The Interior Ministry said in a brief statement that the three arrested were aged between 20 and 25 years. The two-line statement said one of the suspects was an Arab man, without giving further details.
A Defense Ministry online newspaper said the non-Yemeni suspect was a Kuwaiti national. It quoted “well-informed” security sources as saying that the arrests were made after massive manhunt for suspects linked to various terror and security cases. Police officials told Arab News security forces had launched a countrywide manhunt for fugitives believed linked to Al-Qaeda.
