DUBAI: Chevrolet Tahoe continues to set its mark across the Middle East as the leading powerful full-size SUV with sales soaring by 24 percent in 2008.
“The Chevrolet Tahoe has dominated the market in terms of raw power, value, quality and comfort and this year it comes with a new Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission,” says Karim Corm, Chevrolet SUV marketing manager in the Middle East.
“Designed to deliver a sharper driving experience, segment-leading fuel efficiency, increased interior refinement and improved quietness, the Tahoe is truly a leader in its category,” he added.
The new Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed transmission is standard on all trims, and complements the standard Vortec 5.3-liter V8 with 355 hp at 5,200 rpm, and 505 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm to offer a world-class power train. The new transmission enhances real world fuel efficiency on the highway via reduced engine speed, as the engine requires less fuel to operate at a lower “cruising” speed with electronic overdrive and driver shift control, which allows drivers to up- and downshift clutchlessly through gear knob controls.
The 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe is available in three trim levels: LS, LT and LTZ, with two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models available. All come well equipped with enhanced safety, comfort and convenience features. The 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe features a body with rounded lines, fully wrapped front lower body fascia that eliminates air-grabbing gaps, doors that wrap over the rocker panels, a steeply raked windscreen — tilted back 57 degrees — and a radio antenna that is built into the rear quarter-window glass. Such detail makes the Tahoe more smooth and aerodynamic.
