Teayana, which offer some great healthy alternatives for food on the go, are a welcome addition to the dining scene in Jeddah. They highlight their teas as beneficial for both mind and body. It certainly beats coffee and they also offer an executive lunch that will apparently balance out your busy work routine.

The lunch includes a fresh salad of the day, a sandwich and a refreshing cold tea for only SR39. Not bad when you consider that’s just the cost of salad at some other place in town.

We stopped by the Khalidiya branch recently and were impressed by the colorful and cheery decor which makes the venue all the more comfortable.

Traffic meant our arrival was a close call, but we were happy to find the staff honor the executive lunch deal at 10 minutes to three. Although it didn’t take too long for our order to be prepared, it would have been nice to see some reading material available for customers while waiting.

Once ready, we started with the salad of the day — Caesar salad — which was fresh, crisp and served with croutons and dressing on the side (should you wish to skip it).

You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to sandwiches. We went for the Santa Fe chicken wrap — a large thick wrap filled with Mexican style strips of chicken and peppers, served with roast potato wedges seasoned with herbs.

It was nice to see that they had fresh roasted potatoes and not the usual frozen offerings other venues serve.

We finished it all off with a cranberry iced tea which was cool and refreshing.

To be honest, this was more than enough for lunch and will definitely keep you going well into the evening.

We asked Teayana how long the offer was running for and were told its ongoing, and should last indefinitely, looks like the executive lunch is here to stay. For those preferring takeaways, we have been informed that Teayana also have a delivery service from Saturday to Thursday, starting from 11 a.m. You can reach the Khalidiya branch by phone on 02-6062646
