JEDDAH: Bab Rizq Jameel, an initiative set up by Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs (ALJCSP), has succeeded in creating training and job opportunities for more than 10,000 young men and women in several private sector companies.
Of these, 25 percent have been appointed in Jeddah, 17 percent in Riyadh, 13 percent in Makkah, 12 percent in Madinah and Dammam, 9 percent in Yanbu, 7 percent in Qassim and 5 percent in Hail. In addition, 67 percent of those employed were male, while 24 percent were female.
Major companies that participated in the program included Alhukair, Al-Shaia, Savola (Panda) and Zain. Jobs made available in private sector companies included positions in sales, marketing, accounting, secretary work and customer service. A total of 1,455 young males have been appointed as cashiers, 755 as sales representatives, and 406 as receptionists.
Bab Rizq Jameel is this year planning to create 15,000 job opportunities in private sector companies.
