Dell has delivered an update for its Latitude XT2 convertible tablet. Multitouch capabilities on the Latitude XT2 allow users to use natural gestures such as a pinch or tap for scrolling, panning, rotating and zooming that work with productivity applications they use every day.
The Latitude XT2 offers nearly 11 _ hours of battery life with a 6-cell battery and optional 6-cell battery slice. The tablet has a daylight viewable display that has up to 100 percent more luminance than the HP EliteBook 2730p. Full-size keyboard, touchpad, point stick and battery-free pen give users input flexibility. The tablet provides improved connectivity with a new LCD-based wireless antenna design. It has an enhanced hinge design for improved panel stability and SATA drive support providing updated storage technology and enhanced performance. In terms of security. Dell ControlVault and ControlPoint Security Manager have been added. DDR3 RAM allows better performance and up to 5GB RAM. The system starts at $2,399.
Social networking site for indie music
MyMusicSite.com is an interactive website that acts as a medium for musicians to independently promote and sell their own music, songs, albums, production tracks and ringtones. Phase Two enhancements being rolled out at the site include Fan Mail and Enable Alerts. Each member is given their own individual URL, the ability to create their own customized site, promotional tools to allow them to promote their music as well as the ability to load audio tracks for instant sales via downloads and ringtones. Price of content is determined by each artist and setting up a personal profile page is free.
Solar powered full-touch screen phone
Samsung Electronics has unveiled “Blue Earth.” Designed to symbolize a flat, well-rounded shiny pebble, Blue Earth is the first solar powered full-touch screen phone. By charging with the solar panel located on the back of the phone, users can generate enough electronic power to call anytime, anywhere.
Blue Earth is made from recycled plastic known as PCM, which is extracted from water bottles, helping to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions in the manufacturing process.
The device, including charger, is free from harmful substances such as Brominated Flame Retardants, Beryllium and Phthalate. Blue Earth comes with a user interface which is designed to draw attention to preserving our fragile environment. One feature of “Eco Mode” is the “Eco Walk” function which allows the user to count steps with an in-built pedometer, calculating how much CO2 emissions have been reduced by walking as opposed to motor transport.
