JEDDAH: The Court of Grievances in Jeddah has sought the intervention of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal to include the name of a Saudi fraudster on the list of the Kingdom’s most wanted criminals. The Saudi, identified only as Abu Rakan, has been on the run after duping SR35 million from 25 investors.

The court said it had tried unsuccessfully to reach Abu Rakan for the last 18 months. According to sources, Abu Rakan took cash from the 25 businessmen promising to invest their funds in businesses relating to import, export, telecommunications and services.

After failure to reimburse the investors, Abu Rakan disappeared for several years before being caught and put in jail. He was later released on bail and has since disappeared.
