JEDDAH: The third annual Voluntary Students’ Medical Forum starts today at the King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah.
The medical college is organizing the forum with the aim of gathering all those interested in volunteer work, including individuals and institutions, at one place.
The forum will include competitions for well-planned and implemented voluntary projects. The winning project will be financed. The projects competing has to be submitted by a group of seven people.
Participants are not necessarily be medical students and no specifications on nationalities were given. The projects must be related to health care and helping low-income individuals living in the Kingdom, according to Mohammad Bukhari, an organizing member. The winning project would be selected from the best 10 submitted projects.
A special committee consisting of four staff members of the medical college and another four representatives of sponsoring companies will choose the winning projects.
There will be separate awards for planning and implementation. The awards are named after Dr. Adnan Amin, a faculty member who died recently.
